CBSE has released Class 12 Sample Papers for Term I Board Exams 2021-22. This year, the Board Exams will be conducted in two phases – Term I and II with 50% Syllabus in each term. CBSE has released Date Sheet for Board Exams 2021 for Class 10 and 12. CBSE Improvement, Compartment and Exams for Private Candidates will be conducted from August 25, 2021. Single Girl Child Scholarship

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship Scheme

CBSE provides financial assistance to all single girl students under this Post Matric Scholarship Scheme (For Classes 11 and 12). The application form should be filled online on the official website of CBSE i.e. The renewal application shall also be filled in the same way as of the fresh application. The eligibility criteria to avail the scholarship are as follows:

  • The female candidates who have passed Class 10 from CBSE with at least 60% marks are eligible to apply for this scholarship. 
  • The candidates should have been studying in CBSE affiliated school with a tuition fee of not more than Rs. 1500.00.
  • The applicant should be an Indian Citizen.
  • The candidate should be the only child of her parents.

CBSE Class 12 Results 2021

CBSE Class 12 Results 2021 have been declared on July 30, 2021. The results have been declared on the official board website. Students can check their marks and download the Marksheet on either of the following websites;, or CBSE Class 12 Results 2021 will also be available to download at Digilocker facility. Evaluation of results was done on the basis of students’ performance in previous year examinations (Class 12 Pre-boards, Class 11 and Class 10 Final Exams) in a ration of 40:30:30. CBSE Class 12 Results have been released for almost 14 Lakh students. 

This year, CBSE boasts a record pass percentage of 99.37%. 1304561 students had registered for CBSE Class 12 Board Exams out of which 1296318 have cleared the exams. The Class 12 pass percentage of girls is 99.67% and that of boys is 99.13%. Results of over 65,184 students have not been declared due to incorrect data or non-submission of data by schools. These will be declared later.

How to Check CBSE Class 12 Board Exam Results 2021 via DigiLocker App?

CBSE Class 12 students can access their results via DigiLocker. Here are the steps on how to access results through DigiLocker.

  • From the PlayStore or AppStore, a student will be required to download the DigiLocker App. 
  • After downloading the app, he/she must register with the app using the number that has been registered with CBSE.
  • An OTP will be received on the registered number, which will be required to complete the registration process.
CBSE Class 12 Results 2021

  • The App will request to enter a six-digit security pin. The security pin will be the last six digits of your respective CBSE Board Exam roll number.
  • After submission of the security pin, a student will be able to access their CBSE Class 12 Board Exam Results 2021.

How to Get CBSE Class 12 Results via SMS?

CBSE Class 12th Results can be accessed via SMS. Candidates can send an SMS - cbse12 <roll number> <school code> <centre number> to 7738299899. Alternatively, one can also call on 24300699 for Delhi (National Informatics Centre - NIC) and 011 – 24300699 (for other parts of the country).

The board has released the list of top-performing regions however the merit list has not been released considering the pandemic conditions this year. CBSE Class 12 Result Trend 2020 shows 12,03,595 students appeared for the CBSE Class 12 exams, out of which 10,59,080 passed the examination.

CBSE Assessment Policy 2021-22

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced a Special Assessment Scheme for Class 10 and 12 Board Exams for the academic year 2021-22. According to the Assessment Criteria, the CBSE Class 12 Syllabus 2021-22 will be divided into two terms. Each term will cover 50% of the syllabus. CBSE Assessment Scheme Details

1. Academic session will be divided into 2 terms with approximately 50% syllabus in each term.

"The syllabus for the Academic session 2021-22 will be divided into 2 terms by following a systematic approach by looking into the interconnectivity of concepts and topics by the Subject Experts and the Board will conduct examinations at the end of each term on the basis of the bifurcated syllabus," -- CBSE

2. The syllabus for the Board examination 2021-22 will be rationalized similar to that of the last academic session to be notified in July 2021, stated the notification.

3. Efforts will be made to make Internal Assessment/ Practical Project work more credible and valid as per the guidelines and Moderation Policy to be announced by the Board to ensure fair distribution of marks.

CBSE Class 12 Term I Examinations Details

  • Term I board exams will be held at the end of first term (November-December 2021) within a period of 4-8 weeks.

  • The question paper will contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) including case-based MCQs and MCQs on assertion-reasoning type.

  • The duration of the CBSE 10th and CBSE 12th exam will be 90 minutes.

  • Students will have to mark their answers on the OMR sheet provided.

  • Marks of Term I exams will be added to the overall marks of the student.

CBSE Class 12 Term II Examinations Details

  • Term II board exams will be conducted around March-April 2022 at the end of second term.

  • The duration will be of 2 hours and the paper will have case-based/ situation based, open ended- short answer/ long answer type questions.

  • In case the situation is not conducive for normal descriptive examination, the board may conduct a 90 minute MCQ based exam also.

Class 12 Exam Pattern

CBSE Class 12 Exam Pattern 2021

CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2022 will be conducted tentatively in the second week of April, 2022. The board has introduced some changes in the exam pattern. The syllabus has been divided in two parts i.e. 50% for the first term and remaining 50% for the second term. The total duration of CBSE Class 12 board exam will be 3 hours. The question paper usually consists of the following type of questions: Very short answer questions (1 mark each), Short answer type questions-I (2 marks each), Short answer type questions-II (3 marks each), Value-based question (4 marks) and Long answer type questions (5 marks each). However, this year the board will include around 30% MCQs and the number of application based questions will be less in numbers.

Students have to secure at least 33% marks to qualify the exam. Also, they have to secure 33% in both practical and theoretical exams.

  • There are total five subjects in class 12 including one compulsory language paper i.e. English
  • Students can choose six subjects also but that is not compulsory
  • Students failing in not more than three subjects have to appear for compartment exam.
  • Students failing compartment thrice or one who fails in two or more exams have to rewrite all the subjects next year.
  • A new type of questions which are known as VALUE BASED QUESTIONS is introduced in every paper which is of 4 marks each.
  • Theory: This includes the Board exams which cover the entire syllabus of class XII. Marks and grades are assigned on the basis of a 9-point grading system. Grades will be given for each scholastic subject.
  • Internal Assessment: As per the details given in the syllabus for each subject.
  • Assessment of Co-Scholastic Areas: An objective assessment will be prepared by the concerned teacher on the basis of level of performance/participation by a student throughout the academic year and accordingly assign grades.

CBSE Class 12 Application Form 2021

CBSE is expected to start the Registration process for the students of class 12 in October 2021. The candidates who earlier missed the deadline can now apply in order to appear for CBSE class 12 board exam. Earlier, CBSE had released the application form for class 12 board exam 2021 in October, 2020 and the last date to apply was November 7, 2020. Candidates are suggested to visit their respective school to complete the registration process. There is no change in the registration and exam fee. All the rules and regulations are similar to that of regular registration process.

CBSE Class 12 Revaluation and Rechecking 2021

As the board exam dates has been postponed till further notification, the revluation dates will tentatively be released after July, 2021. As of now, CBSE class 12 results is scheduled to be released for July 15, 2021 but it is likely to be extended up to August, 2021.

Candidates can apply for paper revaluation after the declaration of result. The application shall be made on the official website of CBSE. The students who are not satisfied with their results can apply for rechecking or revaluation of their answer sheet. In the rechecking process, CBSE will check whether the marks awarded to the students are accurate or at fault. Similarly, during the revaluation process, the complete answer sheet for CBSE Class 12th Result 2020 will be rechecked by the individual examiner. The Re-checking and Re-evaluation process allows the candidates to clarify the doubt with regard to their performance in the results. It helps the students to make sure that their answer sheets have undergone fair evaluation.

CBSE Class 12 Revaluation Results 2021

The board will release the revaluation and rechecking results in September, 2021. Candidates will require to enter their board roll number, admit card id, school number and center number in order to access the result. The total marks may be reduced in the revaluation process and no claims shall be accepted for reduced marks. The steps to check the result are as follows:

  • Click on ‘CBSE 12th Updated Result after Revaluation, result later and combined result, for compartment candidates’
  • Enter the roll number, reg id, admit card id, center and school number
  • Click on submit
  • The result will be displayed on the screen.

Class 12 Improvement Exams 2021

CBSE Class 12 Improvement Exams 2021

Students who are not satisfied with their performance in the CBSE 12th exam can apply for improvement in the respective subjects. The application form for the same can be filled tentatively in the month of September, 2021. The result will be declared by the CBSE Board in the last week of September, 2021. From the session 2021-22, CBSE has allowed the candidates to appear for the improvement exam in the same year of the ongoing session. The best score from the Improvement and Board exam will be taken into consideration while making the final scorecard.

Criteria to Apply for Improvement in Class 12

Candidates who passed the CBSE Board exam in 2019 and 2020 are eligible to apply for the 2020 improvement exam.

  • Candidates can choose more than one subject for improvement.
  • The application fee will vary according to the number of subjects chosen.
  • Candidates can prefer the latest or improvement result after the declaration of CBSE 2020 Improvement result.

Students are advised to go through the eligibility criteria as per CBSE before applying for the improvement exam. If the candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria, his/her exam form will be cancelled.

  • Candidates are eligible only if they have passed the previous Board Exam they had appeared for.
  • Only candidates who want to raise their previously scored marks are allowed to give the improvement exam.
  • He/she must have studied from CBSE Board.
  • He/she must not have a compartment in any subject.
  • He/she can only write an improvement exam for the subjects he previously appeared for.
  • Improvement exams can be given for subjects out of the five main subjects only.

CBSE Class 12: Exam Day Guidelines

  • It is mandatory to take exams in school uniform only.
  • Students must carry their respective CBSE class XII admit cards, signed by parents, to the allotted exam center.
  • All instructions given on the back of the admit card should be read carefully before appearing for the examination.
  • Banned items like mobile phones, calculators, and smartwatch and (or) any cheating material should not be carried to the exam hall.
  • Reporting time for the examination is 10 am.

Ans: CBSE Class 12 board exam 2021 has been cancelled due to the increase in Covid-19 cases across the country. PM Modi made the announcement to cancel the exams on June 1, 2021.

However, it is expected that the syllabus of NEET and other national level competitive exams will also be reduced in line with CBSE 12th syllabus.
