Karnataka PGCET 2021 has been postponed till November 2021. KEA had earlier scheduled the exam to be held on October 22 and 23, however, the revised schedule after the postponement will be published soon. Last date to compete Karnatala PGCET 2021 registration has also been extended. Eligible candidates can visit the official website at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/ to fill the application form online till October 3 and pay the application fee till October 5. Apply for Karantaka PGCET 2021 now!

According to Karnataka PGCET 2021 Eligibility, candidates with a valid Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/ college are eligible to apply for the exam. The exam is held as a pen and paper test for a duration of 2 hours. There are 100 MCQs covering topics from respective courses from the bachelor’s level. Karnataka PGCET is a state-level entrance test conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to MBA/ MCA/ ME/ MTech/ MArch programs offered by Karnataka’s Government / University/ Private Aided / Private Un-Aided professional educational institutions. Total 178 institutes in Karnataka participate in Karnataka PGCET for PG admission after qualifying this common entrance test. Candidates can also get a lateral entry for admission in MCA program.

  • Domicile:Candidates from the home state must have a domicile of Karnataka for getting reservation.

Karnataka PGCET 2021 Reservation

  • According to Karnataka PGCET 2021 Reservation Policy, only candidates of Karnataka can claim for reservation.
  • The reserved categories are SC, ST and Category-I for Karnataka candidates.
  • Candidates from Hyderabad-Karnataka region can claim for reservation if they produce an eligibility certificate from the concerned Assistant Commissioner.
  • Reservation for Ex-Defence Special Category (Code- U): Ward of ex-servicemen can get a certificate showing the home address of the parent issued by the Joint Director / Deputy Director of the concerned district and countersigned by the Director, Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement, Bangalore. This reservation will not be applicable for M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch courses.
  • Reservation for PwD candidates: Candidates who have 40% or more disability are reserved for 3% of total seats in Government and Government Aided colleges.

Karnataka PGCET 2021 Application form

General information

  • Karnataka PGCET 2021 Application has been released on the official website. 
  • Karnataka PGCET 2021 form details will be the candidate’s name, course for which they are applying, date of birth and other personal details.
  • Candidates must upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature and thumb impression in JPEG format.
  • Candidates must fill details in the form correctly because there will be no chance for correction after the final submission of the form.
  • Multiple applications will be rejected. So a single application form for a single candidate must be submitted.
  • Students having a GATE qualified score can also apply for M.Arch/ M.Tech/ M.E admission. Candidates who apply through GATE scores need not appear for the entrance test.
  • Payment of Karnataka PGCET 2021 Application Fee should be done by generating a challan.
  • After completion of the application process, candidates must print the application form and payment proof which must be kept for further references.

  • Karnataka PGCET admit card must be kept carefully because it is an entry ticket to the exam hall.
  • Karnataka PGCET Admit Card will be required at the time of counselling and admission process.

Karnataka PGCET 2021 Seat Allotment

  • In the Karnataka PGCET 2021 Seat Allotment process, the seat matrix will occur according to the government.
  • College wise, category wise and course wise seat matrix will be hosted on the website of KEA, informing the candidates and parents.
  • After the last date and time fixed for entering the options, the seats will be distributed on merit based priority entered by the candidates and followed by Karnataka PGCET 2021 Reservation Policy.

Karnataka PGCET 2021 Seat Allotment Process will be done in the following way

  1. For ME / M. Tech / M. Arch Courses
    1. First seat is allotted to valid gate score candidates. The reservation is applicable only for Karnataka’s candidates and the same is not applicable for Non-Karnataka GATE rank holders
    2. Non-Karnataka GATE rank holders will considered under Open or General Category
    3. After GATE rank holders’ seat distribution is finished, among the remains seats of General category, 90% of the seats are reserved by Karnataka Candidates and other 10% seats left for Non-Karnataka Candidates
    4. PGCET 2021 allotment of seats for all GATE candidates will occur according to GATE Rank List
    5. The vacant seats after allotment for the GATE candidates will be offered to candidates who are eligible for PGCET 2021
  2. For MCA Lateral Entry & 1st year Course
    1. MCA Lateral Entry seats for all reserved categories,allocation for Ex-Defence will occur first, then for General Merit students.
    2. For MCA Lateral Entry rank holders including the candidates, seat allocation for the Physically Disabled and ME / M. Tech courses will occur according to their ranks.
  3. For MBA Course
    1. MBA seats Entry seats for all reserved categories,allocation for Ex-Defence will occur first, then for General Merit students.
    2. For MCA Lateral Entry rank holders including the candidates, seat allocation for the Physically Disabled and ME / M. Tech courses will occur according to their ranks.

Karnataka PGCET 2021 Merit List

Karnataka PGCET 2021 Merit List will be prepared by candidates’ qualifying marks according to the predefined marks set by the Karnataka Examinations Authority.

  • The merit of the candidate will be determined for each course separately.
  • If the merit of two candidates is the same, then it is calculated on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examination.
  • The higher marks will get first preference. If there are still any clashes, then the elder candidate will be preferred.
  • For M.E./ M.Tech/ M.Arch courses, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of a valid GATE score for GATE qualified candidates. Then the selected candidates’ preference will be based on their employment in government organizations/ public sector/ private organizations.
