NBE has released the NEET MDS 2022 tentative exam date i.e. December 19, 2021. NEET MDS will be conducted in an online mode for admission in around 6,000 MDS seats under 50% All India Quota and 50% state quota. NEET MDS 2022 Application Forms are expected in the month of October 2021 in the online mode. To become eligible for the exam candidates must have completed Bachelor's Degree in Dental Surgery with a one-year Internship from a recognized Dental college. NEET MDS 2022 will be a 3-hour long examination with 240 questions on topics from the BDS curriculum. The questions will be MCQ type and for every correct answer, 4 marks were awarded whereas for incorrect answers 1 mark was deducted. Check NEET MDS Exam Pattern & Syllabus

NEED MDS is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination and no other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MDS courses. The scores obtained in NEET MDS will be accepted in most of the top-ranking dental colleges in India.   • Candidates who have studied/passed BDS from J&K are not eligible for 50% AIQseats.

NEET MDS 2018 Application Process

NEET MDS 2022 Application Form can be filled online through NBE Website. The application form consists of four major steps:

  • Step 1: Profile Creation – Candidates applying for the first time on NBE Website will be asked to create a profile. Candidates who have applied earlier can use their login details. They will be asked to enter a Captcha for security reasons.
  • Step 2: Filling of Application – The first step in filling up of NEET MDS Application Form is a selection of the exam from the drop-down. Candidates must opt for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test – Master of Dental Surgery to proceed. Candidates will be taken to the personal information page and asked to fill in the details. 
  • Step 3: Selection of Exam Schedule and Center – NEET MDS 2022 will be conducted all across the country. Candidates can select the NEET MDS Exam Center based on their accessibility. The center will be allotted on a first come first serve basis. 
  • Step 4: Application Fee – NEET MDS application fees should be paid in the online mode. Candidates should ensure that the payment is successful to complete submission of the application form. The payment can be made through: Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking

NEET MDS 2022 Syllabus

The Paper for NEET MDS is divided into two parts with a distribution of 100 marks for Part A and 140 for Part B. The question and topic-wise distribution is given below.

NEET MDS 2022 Result

NEET MDS result 2022 will be released online before Dec 31, 2021. The score will be valid only for the qualifying year. The steps to check the NEET MDS result are mentioned below: 

  • Visit the official website of NBE, nbe.edu.in
  • Login using your login credentials
  • Look for ‘Check Result’ tab
  • Result will be displayed.
  • Download and Print for future reference.

NEET MDS Tie Breaker Criteria 

In the event of two or more candidates obtaining the same marks, the merit position shall be determined using following tie breaker criteria in descending order: 

  • Candidate who has lesser number of incorrect responses in the overall paper (Part A & B) shall be placed at higher merit position. 
  • Candidate with higher score in Part B of the question paper shall be placed at higher merit position. 
  • Candidate who has lesser number of incorrect responses n Part B of the paper shall be placed at higher merit position. 
  • Failing which, date of birth of the candidate will be taken into consideration. Older candidate will be placed at a better merit position.

NEET MDS 2022 Cut off

NEET MDS Cut off 2022 is determined by the percentile obtained by a candidate. Percentile is calculated on the basis of the highest marks secured in the exam. Candidates should meet NEET MDS Cut off to be eligible for subsequent rounds of the admission process. The minimum qualifying scores and percentile after the 2021 examination are mentioned below:

NEET MDS 2022 Counselling & Seat Allotment

Other than BDS degree, what is the criterion to apply for the exam?

Apart from BDS degree, you must have a compulsory training certificate of 12 months in rotation or practical training on or before March 31, 2022 to apply for NEET MDS 2022 entrance exam. If you have not completed your one-year rotary internship on or before given date then you shall not be considered eligible to apply for NEET MDS 2022 exam.

To apply for the respective examination of NEET MDS, candidate’s must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from any college recognized by NBE. Other than a BDS degree, the candidates must also have a compulsory training certificate of 12 months on or before March 31, 2022. How can I be considered non eligible to apply for NEET MDS?

In some cases you are considered non eligible to apply for NEET MDS entrance exam. According to eligibility criteria, if you have not completed your one-year rotary internship on or before given date then you shall not be considered eligible to apply for NEET MDS exam. Apart from this, you should be provisionally or permanently registered with SDC/DCI or You will not be considered eligible to appear for this examination. The candidates who fail to complete their one year rotary internship on or before March 31, 2022 other than special categories cannot be eligible to proceed further. The candidates not registered with SDC/ DCI are also non- eligible. In case the candidates provide any wrong information, they will be denied to appear for NEET MDS as well. A merit list id prepared after the examination based on candidates’ NEET MDS scores. Candidates are then allowed to fill their preferences according to the availability of seats. The seat allotment list is created wherein candidates can download their letter from the website itself. No, you are not eligible to apply for the NEET MDS entrance examination as the minimum eligibility set requires one to have a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery from a recognized dental university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. The candidates also have to complete one year of rotary internship.

Admissions into Postgraduate Medical and Dental courses is through entrance exams, NEET PG and NEET MDS respectively. Till last year, NEET MDS exam was conducted in the month of December while NEET PG used to be held in the month of January/February. The NEET MDS 2021 was held on 16th December 2020, while the NEET PG 2021 examination is postponed till August, due to the ongoing pandemic.
